About Penlateral

Hello, Hi and welcome                                                                       .There is one for you here.

I love writing. Sometimes my pen sets off in one direction only to arrive at a destination completely unexpected. I don’t have any goals or hidden agenda with this blog other than to share some of the things I have discovered upon the page. But if somebody wants to give me a wad of cash to do so…well, I guess that would be dandy.
Why pen? I write mainly in long-hand. Why Lateral? Because I don’t believe everything is as straight forward as it seem.
Penlateral is an ongoing collection of fictitious stories and events that I would like to share with you. Many are short stories dealing with a range of themes and characters from the present day, while others leap to alternative lands and times. If there is adult language I will mark it PG for parental guidance. There may be musings or poetry, just for the sake of it to see what you’ll make of it… yes, cheesy rhyming couplets. Little silly bits, and maybe some serious bits too., Honestly, I don’t know. Only time can tell which direction my Pen will travel.

I hope my worlds and events entertain anyone curious or sympathetic enough to spare a couple of minutes to wander through this blog.
Thank you for reading this far. May your roads flow gently.

David Patrick OC

David, I found you on Hello Poetry when I did a search for poems about spindles. I love your work and will continue to follow you. I have a request. I self-publish coloring pages as digital downloads and would like to include your poem in the introduction page of a set I’m calling “Spindle Love.” The poem I’m referring to is “You are the spindle from where my love has spun.”

Hi kris, sorry for the delay getting back to you, I don’t drop in here as often as I would like. I don’t mind you using my poem as long as I am credited with it. I am flattered that you like it and I wish you every success with your digital download pages.
I know very little when it comes to technology, but would be interest in seeing your work. Is there a link I can follow?
      Take good care Kris
      David

May your creative “shared” art continue to grow.

Are you sh***ing me? sorry I don’t cures often, it’s just that the only thing I ever get nominated for is going to the bar. A big, big thank you very much for even considering me…are you sure it isn’t a mistake? How and ever, I would be honored to accept and will carry on the mantel, soon. I’m not too good with links and such, and I am very dull. I don’t know what to write about myself. I hope you understand that you will be nominated back again. Yes! and not just because you nominated me. I am a fan of your work too.
thank you again and happy postings.
      Take care

  5. I should write in long hand too. I do take a lot of notes, though, in long hand. Don’t you like when the story surprises you and goes somewhere that wasn’t foreseen?

    • Penlateral says:

Hi, thanks firstly for liking one of my scribbles, and secondly for bothering to read it which means a lot more to me. It’s a strange thing to explain to people who don’t write. What funny creatures creep upon the page. Some artists get the same thing while painting, or so I was told. I do like the unforeseen, but sometimes it leaves me in a deep dark hole with no realistic escape. Tearing up the evidence is a guilty pleasure. But on a whole,, letting the pen or fingers take life of their own has some very interesting rewards. I think it’s called “Free writing”, or some other such thing. Guess everything has to be bagged and tagged these days.
Another strange thing is lettting a piece of writing breath for a few days before returning to it with fresh eyes. It’s strange how life-like something so basic can be.
Anyway, thanks again for dropping in.
      kind regards

      David
